Exterior Looking Good

Scoats here: Our landlord (a truly nice and classy lady) has had the parking lot resurfaced and has had the front of the building painted. Both the blacktop guys and the painters have done fantastic jobs, doing the various little things that are the marks of true professionals. The old building really looks great. Sorry there are no pictures yet, I was too exhausted.

Meanwhile inside:
  • The cutting out for the new draft system was being done today.
  • Today they also prepared the floors for the new carpets.
  • Beer is starting to show up and food should be here shortly.
  • Pat and Matt bought a new grill and fryer today.
  • Chris Dominski organized glassware behind the bar.
  • The computers are up and running.
  • We found out we have a really cool phone system.

  4. As I told you a couple weeks ago fellas, Its going to blow your minds how well you are going to do here. With a great purveyor across the street (Reikers) it will bring the place back to the days of great food coupled with a choice of great beers

  6. My freinds and I (all Fox Chase/Rockledge/Elkins Park residents) are really looking forward to the opening. Will you have live music? That was a feature that we really enjoyed at the Blue Ox.

  14. My family really enjoyed the Greylodge, but we rarely got over that way. I'm thrilled that you guys are taking over such an attractive and close by historic building! My husband is really into the microbrew thing...he can't wait! Please open soon...looking forward to some great food, too.

  15. I hope you replaced the bathrooms - they were dirty and disgusting. I also hope you didn't get "Don" with the purchase.

  16. 1) Bathrooms are the same, but clean. We'll get around to upgrading them in a little bit.

    2) Thanks Ray. Hope to run into you soon.

    3) No date for lunch yet. Please give us a two or three weeks to get more kitchen staff.

  17. We wish you both the best of luck with the opening of the Hop Angel Brauhaus. It was a smart decision for bringing back the German theme and for rehiring Agnes, Bill and Don. We couldn't think of three better people to lend their skills, talent and professionalism to the success of your business.

  18. Scoats dropped in last night and had a wonderful evening. Thumbs up to the house made head cheese, the perfectly dressed house salad, and the country pate. Can't wait to come back and enjoy the Schnitzel and Wurst.

Beerwise it was wonderful to have the mixture of both German and US Beers in style of german beers. Duck Rabbit and Kostrizer made the night. And the Manyunk Alt was a nice change too. Triple thumbs up for the beer glasses!

    Cheers,

    Chris

  19. Thanks Chris. Glad you had a wonderful time. Chef Matt is really awesome. We are so lucky to have him on the team.

Glad you like the balance of US and imported German style beers. Since many of the local German styles are seasonal, we will be mixing up the draft line-up regularly.

  20. Dear Anonymous,

I'm extremely happy Agnes, Bill and Don are back. Great places happen because of great people. It's great to see them back where they belong and where they want to be. Having people you can rely on making it much easier to run a business.
