Thursday, 15 August 2013 - Bitburger Keep the Glass Night

Bitburger is a large brewery (Germany's third largest) from the small town of Bitburg (population under 13,000). Bitburg is pretty much right on the western border of Germany. Luxemburg is close by. We haven't poured too many beers from this region yet, so this will be interesting.

The company that owns Bitburger also owns a few other German breweries including Kostritzer. The company seems to do a great job of leaving their breweries alone (and where they started) to do what they do best.

The Bitburger brewery dates from 1817. They pretty much only make one beer, Bitburger Pils. There are some alchopop variations on it, but you really don't want to know. It's a 4.8% pilsner that's very popular in Germany. It will be a perfect beer for a mid-August night. We'll have it on tap and a bunch of glasses to give away.

While supplies last. Limit one glass per customer.
