Between Hop Angel and Grey Lodge, Northeast Philly is well covered for Philly Beer Week. We have loads of awesome events lined up, a Wheat Beer Brunch, a Smoked Beer Dinner, a two-brewery tap take-over, karaoke with the Stoudt family, and even more! Please click the link and check them out.

Fri 03 June: PHILLY BEER WEEK - HAMMER OF GLORY RELAY STOPS (BRIEFLY) AT HOP ANGEL, 10:00AM

Getting the Hammer of Glory (HOG), the beloved omnipotent symbol of Philly Beer Week, to the Opening Tap has become a phenomenon in its own right. Every year the HOG makes a crazy journey through the city stopping at various beer destinations until it arrives at the Opening Tap, where it is wielded by the mayor to tap the first keg, officially opening Philly Beer Week. Each leg of its journey features a different method of transport.

The HOG should arrive from Fox 29 Studios at Hop Angel Brauhaus at 10:00am. It will hang out for 30 minutes for a beer and photo ops, before leaving Hop Angel promptly at 10:30am. For our leg of the journey, Miss Hammer (Brittney Killian) will escort the HOG in the back of a convertible waving and blowing kisses to their adoring public.

Why not join us to cheer on the HOG as it leaves for The Grey Lodge Pub. CBS3 will be here, so you might get on the news. More details of the 2011 HOG relay are here.
