This Week at Hop Angel
This Saturday is our first annual Christmasfest.

- Don Bitterlich and his accordion will be on hand with traditional Christmas music from 6pm to 9pm.

- Chef Kevin will have some Christmas dinner specials from 5pm to 10pm.

- We have loads of Christmas beer on tap including Troegs Mad Elf. Also on tap will be Sly Fox Christmas Ale, Great Lakes Christmas Ale, Goose Island Christmas Ale, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, Corsondonk Christmas Ale, Manyunk Festivus, and Penn St. Nikolaus Bock.

On Sunday, join for brunch from 11am to 2pm. You can catch up on the Christmas beers you couldn't get to the night before.

Over in Mayfair, The Grey Lodge has a lot going on this week too.

Draft Beer Notes
Some notes about a few of the beers currently on tap.

Philly Winter Wunder is a spiced holiday ale from down in Kensington. This is a beer with wide cross over appeal.

Sierra Nevada Celebration is a real old-school Christmas ale. Back when breweries typically only made one beer most of the year, they put out an extra strength version for the holidays. Celebration is in that tradition; it's a pumped up version of their iconic Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. This beer has been hugely popular for years now, with no signs of that changing.

Sam Adams Winter Lager, this dark lager beer features cinnamon, ginger, and a hint of citrus from orange peel blend. Very nice for this time of year.

Red Hook Winter Hook, they change up the recipe for this one every year. This 28th version features a rich caramel body that is balanced out with a heavy dose of hops.

Brooklyn Winter is a Scottish Ale. Scottish Ales are smaller versions of Scotch Ales, which usually are really, really malty. I prefer Scottish Ales over Scotch Ales. Unlike their big brother, Scottish Ales strike a perfect balance between malt and hops, giving plenty of each in nice proportion.
