Abita's Jaime Jurado presents:
"Our Next Big Challenge in Craft Brewing: Environmental Sustainability"
Jaime Jurado (Hy-me Hur-a-do), Abita's Director of Brewing Operations, will be in town. And he will be making it up to Fox Chase to Hop Angel.
Jaime is quite a guy. He studied to become a Brewing Praktikant (Apprentice) in Germany. He has worked at breweries in England, Ireland, and several here in the USA. Jaime spent three years as an engineering Ph.D. candidate and researcher at Oxford University and is an occasional seminar presenter of engineering lectures; he holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and a B.S. in chemical engineering.
Jaime will give a presentation "Our Next Big Challenge in Craft Brewing: Environmental Sustainability".
He will also be around to talk (and drink) beer.
We will have a bunch of Abita's German style beers on tap including Amber, Golden, and Seersucker Summer Pils.

Pub Letters - Every Tuesday in May
Pub Letters
Paper letters last. But we’re so busy. Not in the pub we’re not; in the time it takes to empty a good drink, (or two), we can fill a page, fold it, seal a stamped envelope. On the way home, into the mail box–clunk!–and with luck, that letter will find an address and maybe a home, to be read again, when needed most–or when long forgotten, and through it, we will be heard again.
Stop by Hop Angel any Tuesday in May between 7 and 9pm. Bring some addresses, your thoughts, a favorite pen. They’ll supply the paper, the envelopes, the postage FOR FREE.
And you can order a beer or two to help get your creative juices flowing.

Our Beer Garden Will Soon Be Hopping
The weather is getting nicer for sitting outside and drinking beer. Over the years Patrick has transformed our Beer Garden is a great place to spend an evening over some tasty beer.
Last year Pat had planters and a trellis added. The plants we hoped to cover the trellis didn't. But maybe that worked out for the best. Blaise "Johnny Hopvine" Fougere planted four types of hops for us.
It usually takes until the 2nd year to get a really good yield. When we get a nice harvest, we will see if we can find a local brewer to make a fresh hop ale for us.

St. Benjamin
Meet the Brewers
Keep the Glass Night
It seems like spring will never get here, but here's some light at the end of the tunnel. Bock beers mark the coming of spring, so St. Benjamin Le Bon Bock will be a bit of light.
This will also be an opportunity to meet Tim and Christina, the people behind Philadelphia's newest production brewery.
Buy a pint, keep the glass!
Limit one per customer. Offer not valid in Hawaii.
